As far as the eye can see

I wake inside my empty room,
Filled with loneliness and gloom.
Once again I’m all alone,
Once again I'm on my own.
I close my eyes, so very tired,
All hope inside me has expired.
I reach out with a waiting hand,
For someone that will understand.
But again nobody’s there
My life is filled up by despair.
I close my eyes, begin to weep,
I might as well go back to sleep.
The way I am is the way I’ll stay,
There’s no reason to get up today.
